The town of Pamukkale in Turkey is praised for its normal travertine porches which fountain down its slope like mists. These 17 mineral-rich warm pools draw in a huge number of vacationers every year and are important for an old Roman spa city. The pools are framed by calcium carbonate stores on the outer layer of the water.
